Hótel Flatey

Flatey Island was once a trade centre for Breiðafjörður bay, serving the various villages on the coast. Today, the houses have been renovated to their original form, retaining a charming character from the past. The hotel restaurant’s menu is a culinary treasures trove which includes blue mussels, freshly seasoned lamb, fish soup and “rhubarb wonder” for dessert. Venture down to the Salt Bar and try the Flajito, a special version of a mojito made with local herbs. This is one place definitely worth a ferry ride!
