The Herring Era Museum
Often called the silver of the sea, the fish that touched the lives of most Icelanders in one way or another. This remarkable museum is probably one of its kind worldwide and a joy to visit. On special occasions you might see the Herring Girls fill the barrels, reviving the spirit of the old herring plants, singing and dock-dancing to live accordion music!
