The museum is centred on one of Iceland’s great literary minds, Þórbergur Þórðarson. He was one of Iceland’s most significant 20th century authors and groundbreaking achiever in experimental auto-fiction. The museum also features an exhibition on everyday life in the local area of Suðursveit. It’s impossible to miss the building, the exterior design is of a gigantic bookshelf with 45 replica volumes of his works. A fitting tribute to a beloved author!
