According to the Saga bearing his name, Grettir warmed up in a hot spring after his historic seven kilometer swim (4.3miles) from Drangey Island. A thousand years later, you can soak in the same pool, updated to fit modern standards. Overlooking Skagafjörður fjord and the mountains, the area is known for its beauty. In addition to Grettislaug and Jarlslaug pools, it features a café, a guesthouse and campsite, scenic walking paths, and a playground.
