The Icelandic Leader – Sheep Center

Far from the crowds, this humble yet fascinating museum and research center honors the extremely rare Leader Sheep, which only exists in Iceland. Life-size dioramas present the physical traits of this intelligent flock leader, while a small shop sells handmade goods from the sheep’s horns, skins, and wool. Visit during summer (or call ahead during winter) for the annual art exhibition and grab a traditional Icelandic treat from the small café.
