GLAUMBÆR TURF FARM EXHIBITION

Step into the past and learn about Icelandic life in the 18th and 19th centuries at this well-preserved turf farm that is now a museum. Well into the 20th century, Icelanders lived in turf houses, now globally praised for their innovative and sustainable use of nature’s resources. The Viking age ruins and two renovated 19th-century timber houses are not to be missed — nor are the museum café’s refreshments, giving you a taste of a bygone era.
